Alumni Spotlight: Tyler, from Beyond Racing to Pro Racing in Spain
Tyler Stites started riding with Ignacio when he was 12 and continued until he graduated from the program at age 18. He's currently riding for Caja Rural, a Spanish pro team, and lives in Girona and on Mt. Lemmon. He humored us by answering a few questions.
What is your favorite long ride in Tucson? Mt. Hopkins, no driving allowed.
What is the hardest climb you've ever done? Torre, in Portugal.
What's your "go to" meal after a long, hard ride? A bowl of cereal with protein powder and water (no milk).
Any pro tips for flying or packing for a race? Put a bag of Dyno Bites in your bike bag. Make a packing list that you use every time you go to a race so you don't forget anything.
Any advice for kids who are riding and have dreams of making it to the "pro" level? Be patient.
